8 Things You Didn't Know About Me!

This should have probably been my first video post but better late than never :)
I am not too sure how much you, my lovely readers, know about me but it is good for me to share as I am, after all, trying to be open and interact.

Here I answer a few questions which may help you understand me and my views a little better.

I answer the following questions:

  1. Who I am,
  2. Why I started my YouTube channel and blog,
  3. What made me get into fitness and training,
  4. What it is I do,
  5. What advice I would give to my younger self,
  6. What my favourite food is,
  7. What was the best place I visited, and
  8. What it is I do for fun.  :)
I do hope you enjoy and please do go ahead and Subscribe to my YouTube channel and feel free to interact :)

Chronicles Of The Summer Sessions

Day 1: Chest Workout

Once upon a time... in a land far away (ok, due to the internet, everything seems close these days), there was a guy who had spectacular muscles (or so he thought).
By the grace of "Iron-Itus" (made up God of iron addicts), he worked his butt off in the gym as time went by; harder during the times of the white rain (winter) because he knew when times of the yellow sun (summer) arrived, he would be able to reap the benefits of the work he had put in and gain the envy of the less hard working mortals. :)

This is the beginning of the "Chronicles Of The Summer Sessions" in which I will be working on getting my strength back up to where it used to be (might need a ladder for this) and I am super determined to get my body in tip-top shape (don't worry, always working on getting my mind up to that level as well).

Watch the video and feel free to leave me your comments and any other feedback.
Also, feel free too to share and subscribe to my YouTube channel. :)

By the Power of "Iron-Itus", I declare this YouTube video safe and legit :)

Sunny Camden On The River

When the sun comes out in London, the atmosphere can be so wonderful and chirpy and this happened to be one of those days.
Took a walk along the river passing through Camden in London after having a few drinks and a bite and I felt the joy and comfort usually associated with summer; I was in total bliss :)

Camden is renowned for it's artwork and its populus for their eccentric dress sense but in these pictures I try to show a different side to the art and beauty of Camden.

I hope you enjoy the pics and do feel free to leave comments and EXTRA positive feedback :)

I usually stay behind the camera but decided on a selfie. This is me so if you decide to use my name... "PUT SOME RESPECK ON IT" (ha ha ha ha)  :)

Git2 Pro Action Camera: Unboxing, Footage & Review/ Feedback

GIT2 Pro Action Camera: Unboxing!

As I am an action man... I thought it would be best if I bought myself an action camera. :)
After a bit of deliberation and watching reviews of various action cameras, I went for the GIT2 Pro Action Camera from GitUp.
Here I show the unboxing and give the reason behind why I bought the camera.

Git2 Pro Action Camera: Review/ Feedback

(lost a little quality after rendering and outputting the result) So I took the Git2 Pro action camera with me on the Rough Runner 5km Obstacle Course and I must say it was brilliant :)
Here I speak of some of the cool features of the camera as well as what I thought of it after using it for the event.
I also give some tips and suggestions on how to make the most of the camera and some accessories I bought with it.

Rough Runner 2016 - 5km Obstacle Course (Action Cam Footage)

(lost a little quality after rendering and outputting the result)
Signed up to the Rough Runner 5km obstacle course with five (5) friends and it was totally fun. Used the camera to film the action and I was totally blown away and impressed by the footage. I forgot to switch the camera off at times so the battery did not last and I was unable to capture some of the wonderful obstacles along the way. :(

I officially now have the "obstacle course bug" and will be looking for more courses to take part in with my mates in the near future so be on the look out for vids like this :)

Losing A Parent and the Effects Of Time

Losing a parent is such a difficult thing to deal with and though the reality of life is that we all die at some point, it is still hard to cope with when it happens.

Here I try to speak out more on how I feel about losing my dad on the 2nd April, 2015 and how my family and I are still affected by it.

How I feel now; one year later

It has now been a year since his passing and though it still hurts, I have learnt a few things and made a few changes which I share here with you and hope it helps.

Please feel free to leave any comments and share with anyone you think this may help.

A Day In The Life Of: Aaron Balboa

Still in preparation for the big day and oh boy do I feel it getting closer; putting that work in as I prepare for a 5km obstacle course in April with some of my mates.

Running and any other form of exercise is great in helping to build character and discipline in life so I recommend everyone take up some for of training.

Running in London, Running in the Park, keeping fit, staying fit, preparing for summer... nothing better than how great you feel afterwards and think of how shredded I MIGHT be by the time summer comes around. That alone is enough to have me going back out for another run.... ha ha ha ha; the vanity is real out here.

Check out the latest stage in my preparation for the course:

As usual, do leave me your feedback and or any words of encourage.

Rough Runner Training

It has begun...

So some of my mates have decided it would be a brilliant idea to sign us up for an obstacle course; 5km challenge.

RoughRunner.com

Anyway, I am not one to flake on a challenge so I accepted 😊 and now have started the gruelling training regime.

I go running twice a week, on my lunch break with work colleagues. About 4.4km running and then stopping in one of the parks and doing some core (abs and "ting") workout each day.

In the beginning it was so hard... I felt like death itself (not exaggerating obviously 🙈) but now I feel great. I was always keen on working both my body and mind but this year was not great for me and I let things get to me.

I feel a different man again and now on a fitness journey.

These are some of the results from a training session. I am improving with every run:

My diet has also been cleaned up a tad bit though not completely. (Hey, don't judge 😂).

Here are some of the things I've been eating; beetroot, spinach, eggs, etc:

Also, see my previous post for other foods I've been eating 😋😋: View Post

I'll definitely be going hard and posting more fitness related stuff.

Check out the video of my preparation:

I love great, delicious food

I am feeling so hungry just looking at the pics 😯😢.

Food is such an intimate thing for everyone and I have been very intimate this year (stayed focused now).

I have to confess that I am one of those weird people who love taking pics of their food before they eat... even when starving.

The following are some pics I have taken of some of the most delicious foods I have eaten this year thus far and YES, I cooked one or two of them myself (hey, trumpets were made to be blown).

Do you like and what delicious foods have you had lately?

Lobster, pasta, etc:

Avocado, poached egg, etc:

Chicken + vegetable soup:

Chicken teriyaki, rice, etc:

Lasagne, tomato sauce, etc:

Pork, "cheesy thingy", etc:

Shepherd's pie:

Chicken, rice, lentils, etc:

😉 CHEERS 😊

London to Carriacou - The Complete 3 Part Series

I recently travelled to Carriacou (a luscious and beautiful island just off of Grenada in the Caribbean), the land where I grew up, and had such an amazing time seeing family and friends.
Spent some time on the beaches and enjoyed the warm sunshine as well as the delicious, organic foods and fruits on offer.

I have documented some of the trip in video format so in these 3 episodes I will be showing my journey from London to Carriacou via Trinidad.

Watch the videos and as usual, hope you enjoy and do feel free to leave comments. Also, please check out my YouTube channel and SUBSCRIBE for notifications on the next video. I will be posting content every week or so on different, interesting topics.

LONDON to CARRIACOU: EPISODE 1

Here is episode 1 of my trip to Carriacou; I show you the beach and a few other cool things so do enjoy and be sure to visit some time in the future :)

LONDON to CARRIACOU: EPISODE 2

Here is episode 2 of my trip to Carriacou, the most beautiful Caribbean island you will ever visit, and in this episode I show you the beach and a few other cool things.

LONDON to CARRIACOU: EPISODE 3 (the finale)

This is episode 3 and the final in the series; I go to Grenada from Carriacou then a few days later fly out to Trinidad before going back to London.
I enjoyed the Grenada carnival and went to Grand Anse beach amongst other places.

Money Money Money Money!

We give way too much value to money itself then we do to the opportunities it allows us to part-take in.

We need to start seeing money for what it is and then we can truly appreciate its use as simply a tool which we can leverage to gain knowledge, resources, etc; and those are the things of true value.

Let me know what you think; you agree or not?

Snowboarding In Chamonix (The Alps)

So, went out to Chamonix, France (The Alps) with my work and had lovely board meetings (snowboard meetings) :)
It is such a beautiful place in the winter and I have seen Google pics of the summer and it also look amazing then. The weather was perfect; sun was out in its glory, there was fresh powder (snow) on the ground from the night before and the slopes were simply magnificent.
The food definitely did not let the locals and the country down as I loved everything I ate and drank (cheese is a big deal in Chamonix and can be found in a lot of their recipes).
I have learnt a lot on and off the slopes in Chamonix and I find the people there to be absolutely charming and a treat to socialise with; very quaint, pretty, little town. If you do intend to go at some point (and I recommend you do), be sure to take the cable car (gondola) up to see the view from "Aiguille Du Midi", 3,842m up. The views are so splendid; look to your right, you see Switzerland, in front of you and you see France then to your left and you see Italy.

Hope you enjoy these photos and video from my snowboarding trip to Chamonix.
I loved every minute of it and will definitely be taking my game up to another level for my return next year!
