The Stonehenge Megalith

So, I made the trip to Stonehenge :)

Let me start by telling you a secret... it is NOT really a HENGE (the shock and horror).

According to Wikipedia, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henge, "There are three related types of Neolithic earthwork that are all sometimes loosely called henges. The essential characteristic of all three types is that they feature a ring bank and ditch, but with the ditch inside the bank rather than outside."

The ditch at Stonehenge, is outside the structure thus making it NOT a henge :)

There are so many other wonderful facts about the structure (it has been around for thousands of years) and though there is not much to see on that one site in Amersbury, it is well worth the visit. At the time of my visit I was unaware of another structure nearby known as WOODHENGE which is about 2 miles away and is a true henge so you can probably include that in your visit.

These are a few pictures I took of Stonehenge and it's surroundings. As always, hope you enjoy, leave comments and feel free to subscribe to my Blog, Google+ and Youtube

Here is a video I made on my visit to Stonehenge :)

My Beautiful Caribbean Island

Oh my beautiful homeland... how I have missed thee immensely :)

At the beginning of the year, January, 2015, I went to Grenada for a friend's wedding and then went home to Carriacou (pronounced: 'Carry-ah-koo') [13 Square Miles long, neighbouring island] to visit my family and friends and just kick back and relax.

I totally forgot how beautiful my homeland is and I am inviting EVERYONE to go visit.

The following are some of the pictures I took. From left to right:

  • The first two pictures were taken on a beautiful plantation estate in Grenada. The owner was lovely enough to allow my friend to have his wedding reception there (at a cost) and it was utterly spectacular.
  • The remaining pictures were taken around various parts of my homeland Carriacou; the first being of "Sandy Island" from the tiny airplane I took from Grenada to Carriacou.
  • The next three (3) photos were taken around the "Cassada Bay" area and is such a beautiful spot to just gaze from. On a clear day, you can see Grenada in the distance.
  • The next three (3) photos were taken from "Paradise Beach" between Lauriston (where my family lives) and L'Esterre (where I went to primary school)
  • The final three (3) photos were taken on the way to "Belair"; the first showing Petite Martinique in the distance, a lovely, quiet place to visit, the second showing an old windmill used to process sugar, lime or some other local product 'back in the day' and the final picture is of a cactus plant showing the lovely fruit (I guess) we call 'Ma-ti-gwah'.

It was such a lovely trip for me... saw and spent a little time with my FAVOURITE mother :) and some of my really good friends. Cannot wait to visit again.

Anyone wanting to sponsor my next trip home, feel free to let me know ASAP. (If you don't ask, you won't receive)  :)

Weekend stroll about London

Decided to take a stroll about the town and took a few pics of the things I saw and liked.
The pictures are from around Old Street, Brick Lane and Buckingham Palace.

  • You will find lots of lovely places to eat, drink and just relax around Old Street area.
  • Brick Lane is just such a refreshing place... lots of vintage stuff and just quirky, little things which will draw your eyes in.
  • Buckingham Palace is more about grandeur but if you look closely, you can find elements which may have deeper meaning for you.

Got some other cool pics coming soon so give me some feedback and stay posted.  :)
